The CNA has conducted in Rome from 29 October to 4 November 2008 survey of member companies on
economic and financial crisis. The aim of the survey is to give voice to the real condition in which there are
artisans, small and medium entrepreneurs and traders of Rome and the province in order to highlight
relevant information to enable the Association to understand what businesses need and
strengthen and direct their requests to the institutions.
The survey was conducted on a sample of 400 small and medium enterprises in the administration of the Province of Rome,
via mail or fax, a structured questionnaire in five sections to highlight the following elements:
the type of business (by sector and size), the perception of the current situation and
expectations for the next six months, the responsibility of the current crisis situation, the needs of the target in terms of
public funds, the pattern of actions that the institutions put in place
and finally the expectations of the credit world.
The sectoral distribution of the sample see the overwhelming weight of companies in the field of plant
(20%), followed by mechanical and electronic industry (16%) and construction (15%). The
trade is represented 8% responses while the textiles and clothing, wood and furniture, and cartographic and editorial
